Structuring
Aleph Insights is able to take your unstructured datasets and transform them into machine-readable formats, thereby allowing them to be analysed with a greatly reduced resource cost. We will structure the data according to schemas that will be designed specifically to support the decisions you need to make. Our data structuring process include Palimpsest, which combines natural language processing techniques, innovative crowdsourcing and the application of expert human analysis.

Cyber data framework
- Client:Defence Science and Technology Laboratory
- Years:2018 - 2019
Aleph Insights was asked to develop a data framework that could be used to structure the MOD's cyber data in a format which would enable easy sharing across all parts of the organisation and with partners. Rather than designing a whole new framework and introducing additional adoption barriers, we built on the most appropriate existing frameworks, designing and specifying a number of object extensions to meet the specific needs of the defence community. The comprehensive architectural artefacts developed by Aleph Insights are now being used as the basis for consistent data structuring by the client.

Next generation of text extraction technologies
- Client:Defence Science and Technology Laboratory
- Years:2017 - 2018
The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory had a requirement to develop a gold standard dataset on which to train and evaluate automated text extraction algorithms. Aleph Insights produced this dataset reaching a higher standard of annotation confidence for a lower cost than had been considered achievable by the customer. This dataset is now being successfully used to develop the next generation of text extraction technologies.

Qualification risk taxonomy
- Client:Ofqual
- Years:2019 - 2020
The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) must manage all of the risks associated with a wide range of qualifications, examinations and assessments in England. Aleph Insights developed a new risk taxonomy for Ofqual, to enable it to improve the way it labels and tracks these risks, helping it to identify emerging problems. We also clearly mapped out and specified the detailed system changes that would be required to implement these changes, enabling Ofqual’s development team to schedule the required work.

Cyber Problem Book
- Client:Defence Science and Technology Laboratory
- Years:2021 - 2022
Dstl asked Aleph Insights to assemble a catalogue of defensive cyber problems and questions, so that research activity could be effectively targeted, and priorities shared. Through a series of workshops, a survey, and supplementary research, Aleph developed a 'Problem Book' that comprised around fifty categories problems along these lines.
